Some seasons feel like one wave after another. Before we can catch our breath, something else hits—loss, uncertainty, fear, or a burden nobody else can see.
Psalm 42 speaks honestly from that place. The writer longs for God while struggling with sorrow. His hope comes through returning to God, even while the waters are still raging.
The blue-ringed octopus carries a quiet reminder: something beautiful can also be dangerous. We don’t always recognize what we’re facing, and we cannot control everything beneath the surface.
We can bring our fear, exhaustion, and unanswered questions to God. We can ask for help. And when hope feels distant, we can return to the words the psalmist spoke to his own soul: “Hope thou in God.”
Wear it as a reminder—for yourself, and for someone who may need that hope today.
